19 Sep Winter Wonderland
This year’s event presented by the RBC Convention Center WAS THE BIGGEST EVER!
1100 children from 8 schools experienced Variety’s Winter Wonderland on November 21st at the RBC Convention Centre and we couldn’t be more grateful! We are extremely thankful for everyone who supported this event with continued generosity towards Variety’s kids living with economic disadvantage. Everyone went above and beyond to help us make this a huge success. Every single child who attended felt special due to the love and care put into this event and we are so thankful.
All of the deserving children who attended our Winter Wonderland event from Marion School, Archwood School, Pinkham School, Dalhousie School, Buchanan School, Dufferin School, Heritage School and Polson Schools had an incredible day filled with arts and crafts, cookie decorating, face painters, glitter tattoo artists, a magic show plus a visit from Santa. All of our event supporters and volunteers showed a lot of kindness to make this event possible.
It is a sad reality that 1 in 3 children in Manitoba live in economic disadvantage. We are so grateful for you and the other caring individuals who helped us make sure that all of the children who attended Winter Wonderland were fed a delicious warm meal, were served with a smile and received practical, fun, and food items in their gift bags!
You can still make a donation to support the event below:
Winter Wonderland includes a nutritious hot meal, “Winter Wonderland” themed décor, holiday entertainment, caroling, a visit from Santa, plus every child receives a gift bag. These gift bags are filled with toys, snacks, and useful items including toques, mitts and toothbrushes.
We partner with elementary schools to provide children this wonderful opportunity each year. Sadly, many of the children attending Winter Wonderland will not receive a gift or a warm meal, during the holiday season. Variety holds this event annually thanks to the support of numerous sponsors and donors who contribute resources and their time.
